The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance is recruiting additional staff to support the implementation of Cyprus’s pension reform. The vacancies comprise five Social Insurance Officer posts and 40 Assistant Insurance Officer posts.
According to a notice published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on Friday, the five Social Insurance Officers will be appointed on salary scales A8-A10-A11, while the 40 Assistant Insurance Officers will be appointed on scales A2-A5-A7(ii).
All appointments will be for a period of up to 28 months. Those recruited will work specifically on the implementation of the Pension Reform project.
Labour and Social Insurance Minister Marinos Mousiouttas had previously announced plans to open the positions.
Placement and qualifications
A university degree is required for the Social Insurance Officer posts. Successful candidates will be assigned to Social Insurance Services offices in Nicosia.
Those appointed as Assistant Insurance Officers will be placed at Social Insurance Services offices across Cyprus, depending on operational needs.
Salary and parliamentary approval
The basic salary will correspond to the entry point of scale A8 for Social Insurance Officers and scale A2 for Assistant Insurance Officers, subject to the reductions stipulated in the annual Budget Law in force.
Any approved salary increase and cost-of-living allowance applicable during the employment period will also be added.
The appointments are conditional on the House of Representatives approving the relevant provision under Article 17 of the budget.
Applications are available through the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance website and must be submitted by 28 September 2026.
