Bank of Cyprus Shares Lead Cyprus Stock Exchange Gains

General Index closes at 316.11 points as Bank of Cyprus and Logicom draw the heaviest trading interest, with seven stocks gaining and five declining.

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) opened the week with gains on Monday. The General Index closed at 316.11 points, up 0.57%, with the total value of transactions reaching €575,448.04.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index closed at 185.77 points, recording gains of 0.56%.

Among the individual sub-indices, only the Main Market posted gains, up 1.20%. The Alternative Market fell by 1.38% and the Investment Companies index dropped 0.33%, while the Hotels index remained unchanged.

Bank of Cyprus shares drew the greatest investor interest, with transactions worth €422,768.99 and a closing price of €10.50, up 2.44%. Logicom followed with €53,472.46 in transactions and a closing price of €3.10, up 1.97%. Cyprus Cement Company recorded €40,427.80 in transactions, closing at €1.41, up 1.81%. Atlantic Insurance saw €19,039.06 in transactions, closing at €2.36, down 0.84%, while Demetra Holdings recorded €16,256.35 in transactions, closing at €1.475, down 0.34%.

Of the shares traded, seven moved higher, five declined and two remained unchanged. The total number of transactions reached 139.
