The leadership of the Cyprus Green Party – Citizens’ Cooperation has submitted its resignation to the Central Committee, which met on Sunday. The party has also decided to hold an electoral congress in the autumn.
According to an announcement by the party, the expanded Central Committee session was held in the presence of candidates who participated in the recent parliamentary elections, with the aim of assessing the election result.
Approval pending
At the end of the meeting, it was decided that a committee would be formed to codify the discussions held during the session into a document, which will be submitted for approval at the next Central Committee meeting.
A separate committee will also be established to prepare a strategic action plan for the party for the next five years, which will likewise be presented for approval at a future meeting of the Central Committee.
The Central Committee further approved a financial plan for the next five-year period, based on revised projections following the termination of state funding due to the party’s failure to retain parliamentary representation.
Finally, it was decided that the Cyprus Green Party – Citizens’ Cooperation will proceed to an electoral congress in the autumn, following the leadership’s decision to place its resignation before the Central Committee.
