Private primary school Morfosis has responded to media reports and the Ministry of Education's decision to revoke its operating licence, saying the issue is a temporary administrative matter concerning its premises in Kolossi.
The Ministry of Education had announced that it revoked the school's operating licence after determining that its buildings lack the required suitability certificates and permits under the law. The ministry also called on the parents of affected students to take the necessary steps to transfer their children to a public or other approved private school for the 2026 to 2027 school year.
In its statement, Morfosis said the issues relating to the operating licence concern exclusively the school's temporary premises in Kolossi, and the completion of the required procedures for issuing the relevant certificates of use for the property from the competent authorities.
The school's management stressed that the measure is temporary and said it is not connected to the quality of education provided, student safety, or staff professionalism.
According to the statement, Morfosis is in close and constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the relevant state authorities in order to complete the outstanding procedures as soon as possible. The school also expressed confidence that the matter will be resolved through the appropriate legal process.
The statement also referenced the construction of the school's new building, which, according to management, is proceeding on schedule and is expected to welcome students from the school year beginning in 2027.
The school said it has operated in the education sector for more than 13 years, and thanked parents and the wider community for their trust and patience, adding that further updates would follow through its official communication channels as developments occur.
