Larnaca: 57-Year-Old Remanded Over Drugs, Firearm and €40,000

A 57-year-old man was remanded in custody for eight days on Saturday after appearing before Larnaca District Court in connection with the seizure of drugs, a firearm, explosives and approximately €40,000 in cash.

The suspect was arrested on Friday during a coordinated operation targeting serious and organised crime. Officers searched his home, vehicles and other premises under a court warrant.

Police said they found a pistol, seven live rounds of ammunition, improvised explosive devices and a quantity of gunpowder.

Officers also seized approximately 210 grams of cannabis, 70 grams of cocaine, five grams of cannabis resin, two packages containing cannabidiol, and two precision scales. The reported drug quantities were measured at gross weight.

The operation was carried out by Larnaca CID in cooperation with the Larnaca Drug Law Enforcement Unit and the Intelligence Management and Analysis Service.

Investigations are continuing.
