Cyprus has expressed readiness to support humanitarian efforts in Venezuela through the European Union, after two powerful earthquakes caused widespread destruction in the country.

In a post on X, the Foreign Ministry said it was “deeply saddened” by the loss of life and the damage caused by the earthquakes, adding that Cyprus is following developments closely.

Nicosia said it stands ready to contribute to humanitarian assistance efforts through EU mechanisms, as international aid efforts begin to take shape in response to the disaster.

“Our thoughts are with the people of Venezuela during this difficult time,” the ministry said.
