The new platform allows citizens to apply for police certificates, submit declarations and access reports through GOV.CY.

Citizens in Cyprus can now complete a wider range of police-related procedures online, following the launch of DigiPol, a new digital portal aimed at making everyday transactions with the Cyprus Police faster and less bureaucratic.

The platform, which went live on 8 June through GOV.CY, brings together more than 30 police services in one digital environment. These include applications for criminal record certificates, requests for police reports and declarations for the loss of an identity card.

DigiPol was presented on Thursday at a press conference attended by Deputy Chief of Police Panikos Stavrou, who said the portal marks a new stage in the way citizens deal with the Police.

For the Cyprus Police, the project is part of a broader effort to move key services away from paperwork and in-person procedures, while making access simpler for the public. Stavrou said the use of technology and the development of digital services are now a central priority for the force, both for improving the service offered to citizens and for modernising internal procedures.

He described DigiPol as one of the most important digital transformation projects implemented by the Cyprus Police, as well as one of the largest digital modernisation projects in the country’s public security sector.

The project is funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, within the framework of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan.
