The phased distribution of water‑saving equipment to households and premises has begun as part of the national effort to promote responsible water management, the Water Development Department announced.
According to the department, the distribution is being carried out on a nationwide basis and is starting from the Paphos district.
Approximately 75,000 free kits will be made available in the coming period, each containing four tap nozzles and two flow reducers for showers. Distribution will take place gradually over the next few months to ensure the equipment reaches households and premises across Cyprus.
The initiative has already been under way since the beginning of 2026 in businesses and professional premises with high water consumption.
In total, the programme will provide two million tap nozzles and one million shower flow reducers.
The equipment can reduce water consumption by up to 30% without affecting comfort during use or causing noticeable changes for users. The department said the initiative allows everyone to become part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
