The official trailer for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man has been released, marking the long-awaited return of Tommy Shelby to the big screen.
The film is directed by Tom Harper, while Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy reprises his role as the iconic gang leader who captivated audiences through the television series Peaky Blinders.
Murphy is joined by a strong ensemble cast including Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Barry Keoghan, Stephen Graham and Jay Lycurgo. Familiar faces from the original series also return, including Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck.
The plot
The story is set in 1940s Birmingham during the Second World War. Tommy Shelby returns from self-imposed exile to confront what is described as the most unforgiving reckoning of his life.
With the future of the Shelby family, and of the country itself, hanging in the balance, he is forced to face his past, his choices and his personal demons.
Release date
The film will open in selected cinemas on 6 March 2026. From 20 March, it will be available worldwide on Netflix.
From the BBC to the big screen
The series was created by Steven Knight and evolved into a global television phenomenon. It premiered in 2013 on BBC Two and joined Netflix’s catalogue a year later, expanding its international audience.
Its fourth season won Best Drama Series at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. From 2019 onwards, the show moved to BBC One for its final two seasons.
With Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, the Shelby universe enters a new chapter, aiming to translate the atmosphere and intensity of the acclaimed series to the cinematic screen.
