Comparative and national data on the statutory salaries and allowances of full-time teachers and school heads in public schools across 37 European countries are available through an interactive tool developed by the Eurydice Network. The Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth drew attention to the tool on the occasion of World Teachers' Day.
The tool is presented in the latest electronic issue of the Eurydice Network's publication, Eurydice Today.
Countries covered
The 37 countries include all European Union member states, as well as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Türkiye.
What the tool offers
Users can browse salary data by level of education, from pre-primary to secondary education.
The tool also allows users to track how salaries develop during the school years and throughout teachers' professional careers. The complete dataset can be downloaded, and visualisations can be exported for ease of use.
The ministry's message
"On the occasion of World Teachers' Day, let us highlight the people who help us prepare our children for their future, as well as the conditions that shape their profession, and let us thank them for their dedication and the important role they play in our society," the ministry said.
