Crude oil prices are falling on Friday, while Brent remains on course for a weekly gain.

Crude oil prices were moving lower on Friday morning, interrupting the gains recorded over the previous two days.

The move came after the Iranian President said it was up to the United States to decide when the war would end, raising hopes of an agreement between the two countries.

Brent crude was down 1%, at $105.4 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was falling 1.8%, to $92.9 per barrel.

On a weekly basis, Brent is up 1.4%. By contrast, WTI is down 3.3%.

According to Reuters, oil prices returning above $100 per barrel have revived concerns about inflation. The development also strengthened expectations of successive interest-rate increases by the US Federal Reserve (Fed), following its first move in that direction in more than three years, while the dollar is heading for a weekly gain of around 1%.
