Power outages caused by faults were recorded on the afternoon of Thursday, 17 September, in parts of Nicosia and Larnaca, according to official tables posted on the website of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC).
In Nicosia, the affected areas are in Engomi, Latsia, Agioi Omologites and Strovolos.
In Engomi, the outage in the area of the AlphaMega supermarket was recorded at 1.33pm, with EAC estimating restoration by 6pm.
In Latsia, the fault near the Gymnasium was recorded at 2.44pm, with restoration also estimated for 6pm.
In Agioi Omologites, the outage began at 2.16pm, with restoration estimated for 5.30pm.
At the same time, problems have also been recorded in Strovolos. In the Chryseleousa area, the outage began at 2.16pm, and in the area near the Presidential Palace at 2.17pm. In both cases, EAC gives an estimated restoration time of 5.30pm.
Faults also hit four areas of Larnaca
Power cuts caused by faults are also being recorded in four communities in Larnaca district.
In Agia Anna and Psevdas, the outage was recorded at 1.50pm, while in Kalo Chorio Larnakas and Mosfiloti it began at 1.51pm.
According to EAC's tables, the estimated restoration time for all four areas is 5pm.
Scheduled outages
Alongside the faults, EAC's tables also list scheduled power cuts.
For Thursday, 17 September, a scheduled outage is listed for Kornos, in the area of the army camp, from 8am to 3pm.
On Friday, 18 September, a scheduled outage will affect part of Aradippou from 8am to noon.
On Saturday, 19 September, a scheduled outage will take place in Larnaca, specifically at Mackenzie Beach, from 8am to 1pm.
The restoration times given for the faults are estimates and may change depending on how repair work progresses.
