Lomography Cyprus celebrates a milestone anniversary with a public photo walk in Larnaca on 27 September.

Lomography Cyprus is marking 15 years since it opened as an analogue photography shop in Cyprus in 2011. To celebrate the anniversary, the shop is inviting the public to join a photo walk in Larnaca, bringing together photographers and creative people from across the community.

From a declining medium to a growing following

According to the shop's founder, film photography was at a low point globally when the business first opened, with the medium widely regarded at the time as commercially unviable and in decline. The founder said the decision to open an analogue photography shop in Cyprus that year was met with scepticism from some, while others offered support and encouragement.

Over the following fifteen years, film photography has seen a broader international resurgence, often referred to as an analogue renaissance, as renewed interest in the medium has grown among photographers and hobbyists.
