Kyrenia Shipwreck Toll Rises to 12 as 16 Remain Missing

Two more bodies have been recovered from the seabed as round-the-clock searches continue with support from Turkey.

 

The death toll from the shipwreck off Kyrenia has risen to 12 after two more bodies were recovered during ongoing search operations.

Turkish Cypriot “prime minister” Ünal Üstel announced the discovery, adding that the Turkish Cypriot “police” had begun procedures to identify the victims.

Round-the-clock searches continue

Sixteen people remain missing, with all relevant services continuing their search of the area.

According to Üstel, the operation is being conducted around the clock with support from Turkey. The families of those missing remain awaiting news about their loved ones.
