The collision occurred earlier on Wednesday on the Limassol-Paphos motorway, within the Sovereign Base Areas.
According to Sovereign Base Areas Police, the 76-year-old stopped his vehicle after a refrigerator fell from it onto the road.
When he got out and attempted to remove the appliance from the carriageway, he was struck by a passing minibus and fatally injured.
His death was confirmed at the scene.
Investigation and appeal for witnesses
SBA Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage to contact SBA Police.
