Representatives of companies operating food ordering and delivery platforms in Cyprus met on Wednesday following recent attacks against delivery workers. The meeting was convened at the initiative of Justice and Public Order Minister Costas Fitiris.
The Assistant Chief of Police responsible for Crime Prevention and Combating Crime and other senior police officers also attended.
Companies raise safety concerns
According to a statement by the Justice Ministry, participants exchanged views, heard the companies’ concerns and submitted proposals aimed at better protecting delivery workers and preventing similar incidents.
Police outline prevention measures
Police representatives briefed participants on the prevention and awareness measures already in place. They also discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation and ensure the rapid exchange of information between the police and delivery companies.
“The aim is to enhance the safety of delivery workers through meaningful cooperation, timely information and coordinated preventive action,” the ministry said.
