Penalties have been imposed on two foreign nationals, aged 40 and 29, who were reported by members of the Paphos Traffic Police in January 2026 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to case details, breath tests showed a reading of 97 for the 40-year-old and 95 for the 29-year-old, against a permitted limit of 9.
The 40-year-old was fined €1,700, disqualified from driving for 10 weekends and given 7 penalty points. The 29-year-old was fined €1,500, disqualified from driving for 15 days and also given 7 penalty points.
Police reminded the public that drink-driving is a serious road traffic offence that poses significant risks to the safety of drivers and other road users.
