More Drugs Found in Limassol as British Bases Join Investigation

Nearly 11kg of cocaine, cannabis and other substances were recovered in an area controlled by the British Bases.

 

Further quantities of illegal drugs have been recovered during the investigation of a case involving two men, aged 28 and 23, who were arrested on 2 July 2026 and remain in custody.

The substances were located during a search carried out by British Bases Police officers in an area under the control of the British Bases, following the assessment of information by the Cyprus Police Drug Law Enforcement Unit, YKAN.

Drugs recovered during the search

According to police, officers discovered:

  • 1kg and 982g of cocaine
  • 8kg and 933g of cannabis
  • 100g of cannabis resin
  • 4.7g of methamphetamine

The stated amounts refer to the substances’ total gross weight.

Following a request from the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, the drugs were handed over to YKAN by British Bases Police officers on Thursday for further examination.

Suspects re-arrested

The two suspects were re-arrested under court warrants and are expected to appear before Limassol District Court on Friday morning for proceedings concerning their further detention.
