Police are investigating an attempted murder case after a violent confrontation outside a nightclub in Ayia Napa left four people injured, one of them seriously.
According to police, officers were called to the scene at around 4.30am on Wednesday after receiving information about a fight outside the venue. When they arrived, they found four injured people.
Three of them, aged 22, 25 and 41, had wounds believed to have been caused by a knife. A second 22-year-old man had injuries to his head and face.
Police said a 21-year-old man was also found at the scene. According to testimony obtained by investigators, he is suspected of injuring the three men who suffered wounds from a sharp object. The second 22-year-old is believed to have been with the 21-year-old at the time.
When officers approached the suspect, he allegedly insulted them and was arrested for offences committed in their presence, including public insult, causing disturbance and breach of the peace.
All four injured men were taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where they were admitted for treatment. The condition of the 22-year-old with injuries from a sharp object is described as serious, while the 25-year-old and 41-year-old suffered minor injuries. The second 22-year-old also remains in hospital with head and facial injuries.
Police said a knife was found at the scene and taken as evidence.
