Five arrests were made on Thursday night during police operations conducted in all cities, targeting the prevention of serious criminal acts, the maintenance of public order and the enhancement of the public’s sense of safety.
According to a police announcement, the arrests concerned various offences, including burglary, illegal stay in the country, traffic offences, failure to appear in court and other violations.
During the operations, police also stopped and checked 349 drivers and 101 passengers. At the same time, 33 inspections of premises were carried out to address incidents of unlawfulness, resulting in ten reported violations.
As part of traffic enforcement checks, 178 fines were issued for various traffic violations, while five cases of traffic offences are under investigation.
It is specifically noted that 97 drivers were reported for exceeding the speed limit. Three vehicles were also immobilised.
In addition, 63 alcohol tests were conducted, while checks also identified two drivers who tested positive in drug tests.
The police emphasised that coordinated policing operations aimed at crime prevention and suppression continue on a daily basis, with increased police presence, targeted checks and immediate operational action, with the goal of enhancing citizens’ sense of safety, protecting the public and ensuring public order.
