Police to Announce Investigation Results into Makarios Drousiotis Allegations

The formal briefing will take place at noon at the Cyprus Police Academy.

The Cyprus Police will today announce the results of the investigation into the allegations made by journalist Makarios Drousiotis. The official briefing is scheduled to take place at 12:00 at the lecture hall of the Cyprus Police Academy.

According to an announcement by the force, the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnaoutis, will make an initial statement. This will be followed by a detailed presentation of the investigation results by the Police Spokesperson.

Media briefing and questioning

Following the presentations, representatives of the mass media will have the opportunity to submit questions to the police leadership regarding the findings.

The complaints lodged by Makarios Drousiotis involve allegations of serious criminal offences, surveillance, interference in state institutions and matters concerning the justice system.

International assistance in the inquiry

As part of the investigative process, Drousiotis provided the police with a comprehensive written statement and submitted relevant electronic material for analysis.

Due to the nature of the allegations, the Cyprus Police requested technical assistance from international law enforcement agencies during the course of the inquiry, collaborating with both Europol and the FBI to complete the investigation.
