Cyprus has pledged to provide at least €850,000 as humanitarian assistance in Sudan and the neighbouring countries in 2026, the Foreign Ministry said Saturday.
In a post on X, the Foreign Ministry said that, during the Third International Sudan Conference in Berlin, Cyprus, has pledged to provide at least €850,000 through CyprusAid, as humanitarian assistance in Sudan and its neighbouring countries in 2026, “in response to the appeal to support the population affected, including vulnerable children and women”.
Cyprus’ support will be provided to Sudan, South Sudan, Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Eritrea, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Cameroon, and Egypt, mainly through UNICEF, UNHCR and UNOCHA, it said, noting that Africa remains “a key priority” of CyprusAid.
