Authorities on Tuesday said they were investigating an incident concerning the detachment of a rocket pod from a National Guard military helicopter that fell in an area in Paphos.

Spokesperson of the Defence Ministry, Christos Pieris, said that the pod that did not carry any ammunition had fallen from a National Guard military helicopter.

According to Pieris, the pod takes various types of rockets and is located on the side of the helicopter.

Pieris said that the pod fell in the wider area of ​​Paphos, outside a residential area near Peyia.
