Cyprus's unemployment rate rose to 4.3% in March, up from 4.2% in February, according to figures released by Eurostat. The absolute number of unemployed remained steady at 23,000, unchanged from the previous month and down from 24,000 in March 2024.

The modest uptick runs against the broader European trend. Across the eurozone, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 6.2% in March 2026, down from 6.3% in February and the lowest level on record, according to Eurostat. The EU-wide rate held steady at 6.0%, unchanged from both February 2026 and March 2025.
