Pafos will host a major sporting event on Sunday, 3 May, as the Pafos Triathlon 2026 brings together around 240 athletes from Cyprus and 15 countries.

The event will take place at the Municipal Baths area in Kato Pafos and is co-organised by the Pafos Municipality and Activate Cyprus, under the auspices of the Cyprus Triathlon Federation.

It also serves as the Cyprus National Triathlon Championship, adding further significance to the competition for local sport.

Races begin early in the morning, with the Sprint category starting at 07:00, followed by the Olympic distance at 07:50. The course combines swimming, cycling and running along the city’s coastal front.

Traffic regulations will be in effect from 06:30 to 11:30, with key roads closed, including Poseidonos Avenue from Alykes Beach to the turn-off for Danais Avenue, Melina Mercouri Street and part of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue.

Drivers are advised to use alternative routes via the northern side of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue and towards the Rikkos Beach area. Compliance with police instructions is considered essential for the smooth running of the event.

The Pafos Triathlon is expected to deliver strong competition and further position the city as a growing destination for sports tourism in the Eastern Mediterranean.
