The streets of Agioi Omologites in Nicosia will go car-free for a day on Sunday, 20 September, hosting games, workshops, food and activities for all ages as part of the "Laou Laou" initiative. The event forms part of this year's European Mobility Week.
A car-free neighbourhood for a day
The event aims to transform the neighbourhood's streets into a free, open space where residents and visitors can move around without cars, take part in activities and enjoy the area from morning until evening.

The programme includes games, the "Laou Laou" street market, food, workshops and activities for all ages.
Part of a wider mobility week
This year's European Mobility Week theme is "Mobility for All," with an emphasis on intergenerational justice, and 20 September marks the culmination of a week of activities held across Cyprus. OPU is supporting three events taking place on the same day: "Laou Laou" in Agioi Omologites, "Laou Laou" on Gladstonos Street in Limassol, and "Yavaş Yavaş" in the Surlariçi neighbourhood of Nicosia.
Cycling route to Surlariçi
As part of the activities, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is organising a cycling route linking Agioi Omologites with Surlariçi. The route will begin at 4.30pm from the grounds of the Church of Agioi Omologites.
