Actress described as a “child of the theatre” in tribute following her death

Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Culture has expressed its deep sorrow over the death of actress Konstantina Kleopa, who died on Thursday, August 13.

In a statement, the ministry described Kleopa as a particularly beloved figure in the theatre world, highlighting her character, talent and dedication to her art.

Her death carries a particular symbolic significance, the ministry said, as she was “a child of the theatre” in the literal sense of the term.

'Her impact lives on'

Kleopa was the daughter of Andreas Kleopas, one of the first employees of the Cyprus Theatre Organisation. She grew up within Cyprus’s theatre community and developed an early and profound connection with art and creative work.

The ministry said that through her career and collaborations with people in the cultural sector, Kleopa earned the respect of colleagues and audiences, leaving her own distinctive mark on the theatre scene.

It added that it shared in the grief of her family and extended its “sincere and warm condolences” to her husband, child and mother, as well as to her relatives, friends and colleagues.

“In these difficult moments, our thoughts are with the people who knew her, supported her and loved her,” the statement said.

“Her contribution to the theatre and her presence will remain alive in the memory of those who had the good fortune to work and share their journey with her,” it concluded.
