Two Men Wanted Over Knife Attack On 24-Year-Old In Limassol

Victim is out of danger after being injured at a construction site in Zakaki.

Two men aged 20 and 22 are being sought under court warrants in connection with an investigation into the knife injury of a 24-year-old man at a construction site in the Zakaki area of Limassol on Friday morning.

The victim is currently out of danger, according to Lefteris Kyriakou, head of the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department.

Kyriakou said the 24-year-old had sustained superficial injuries to his abdomen and legs and was expected to undergo further assessment by an orthopaedic doctor.

According to a police statement, the man was initially taken to Limassol General Hospital, where doctors found superficial injuries to his abdominal area and lower limbs. He was also found to have suffered an arterial injury to his left knee.

He was subsequently transferred to Nicosia General Hospital for further treatment.

Two suspects fled the scene

According to the information under investigation, the incident took place at around 10am while the 24-year-old was working at a construction site in Limassol.

The man reportedly became involved in an argument with two individuals aged 20 and 22 who had arrived at the site.

During the incident, the 22-year-old allegedly attacked the 24-year-old with a knife, injuring him. The two suspects then reportedly left the scene.

Kyriakou said members of the Limassol CID attended the scene, photographed the area and collected various pieces of evidence, which will undergo scientific examination.

Police investigations into the circumstances of the incident are continuing.
