A low-pressure system is set to affect the island temporarily on Monday. Dust will remain in the atmosphere, at times at increased levels, until Tuesday evening.
Weather conditions for today
Today’s weather will be mainly cloudy. During the morning hours, thin mist or fog may form, particularly over the eastern half of the island.
Winds will blow mainly from the north-east to south-east, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming strong at times in western areas later in the day, reaching 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to moderate.
Temperatures will rise to around 20°C inland and along the coasts, and to about 10°C in the higher mountain areas.
Conditions overnight
Tonight, conditions will remain mainly cloudy. During the early morning hours, isolated showers may occur in western areas.
Winds will blow mainly from the south-east, later turning south-west, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will remain slight to moderate.
Temperatures will fall to around 10°C inland, approximately 13°C along the coasts and about 6°C in the higher mountain areas.
Outlook for the coming days
On Monday, localised rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly after midday. During thunderstorms, hail is possible.
On Tuesday, locally increased cloud cover is expected, which may initially produce isolated showers in western areas. On Wednesday, the weather is forecast to be mainly clear.
