The Active Citizens – United Cypriot Hunters Movement has called for a public protest following developments concerning the Melios Zoo Park.

In a press release issued by the movement, citizens are invited to participate in a peaceful gathering scheduled for Wednesday, 15 April 2026, at 17:00, at the premises of the zoo.

According to the announcement, the organisers say the protest aims to demand “justice, transparency and the establishment of the truth”, while expressing their disagreement with recent decisions related to the case.

The announcement

“Friends and fellow citizens, we call on you to join a peaceful protest at MELIOS ZOO on Wednesday 15/04 at 5pm, to demand justice, transparency and the establishment of the truth against what we describe as a long-standing rigged system.

It is imperative that we all attend, young and old alike, especially those who have visited this exceptional place and those who truly believe in the welfare that Mr Melios has provided through years of effort and dedication.

We unite our voices against the system, against pretence and vested interests, against what we consider to be the wrong decision of the Court, and against the institutions and services that have become a scourge for our country.

We will be present.”
