A new skills development programme for young women aged 18–29 is set to begin in Nicosia in February. The initiative, delivered in collaboration with the British Council, will take place at KEEAED and includes four interactive training sessions followed by a networking event in April.
Programme launch and institutional collaboration
The Nicosia Municipality Multifunctional Foundation, in collaboration with the British Council, announced the launch of the Skills Lab for Young Women, a training initiative focused on leadership and entrepreneurship skill development for young women.
The programme will be hosted at KEEAED and is addressed to women aged 18–29.
Training schedule and structure
The training series will begin in February and consists of four interactive sessions. Sessions will take place on Saturdays from 10:00 to 12:00 on the following dates: 14 February, 28 February, 14 March and 28 March.
A final networking and celebration event is scheduled to take place at the end of April.
Skills focus and learning approach
The programme is designed to support participants in building practical skills, confidence and meaningful connections, while fostering a supportive community. Through hands-on workshops and participatory learning, participants will explore the following topics:
- Negotiation and leadership skills
- Working with others and team collaboration
- Marketing and communication basics
Certification and networking opportunities
Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a certificate of completion. They will also have the opportunity to take part in a networking event, bringing together participants, trainers and stakeholders.
Programme objectives
The initiative aims to strengthen young women’s leadership potential, enhance employability and entrepreneurial readiness, and promote collaboration and peer support.
