One of the two Greek Cypriots held in Trikomo in the north was released on Thursday, following a 'court' decision to suspend prosecution against him.

The case concerned allegations of an alleged violation of personal data and privacy.

During Thursday's hearing, the 'prosecution' submitted a file for the suspension of the prosecution against the male defendant, who is alleged to have been driving the vehicle on 19 July. The 'judge' consequently ordered his immediate release.

Subsequently, the defence informed the 'court' that the second defendant accepted all charges brought against her. According to statements made during the hearing, the woman owns property in the north, which she inherited from her father. The ;prosecuting authority' presented the background to the cases.

The announcement of the 'court’s' decision in relation to the female defendant is scheduled for 22 December 2025.

According to reports from the north, the man whose prosecution was suspended today remains in the north and will await the outcome of the 'trial' concerning the fate of the second defendant.
