Addressing ministers before the meeting’s agenda began, Christodoulides referred to the death of a fellow citizen during the severe weather in free Famagusta and the deadly shipwreck in occupied Kyrenia.

“In human tragedies, in the loss of human life, the pain is the same,” he said.

Christodoulides added that, on behalf of the state and the Republic of Cyprus, he wished to convey his deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all those who lost their lives.
