Organisers say every new tree is an investment in the future, as volunteers joined a community planting initiative aimed at enhancing the area's natural environment.

A tree-planting initiative has taken place at the park of the Chlorakas Environmental and Cultural Association, promoting efforts to protect and improve the community's natural environment.

The event carried both symbolic and practical significance, with organisers highlighting that the planting of new trees contributes to the creation of a cooler, more attractive and more sustainable environment, improving residents' quality of life while leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

In a statement, Andreas Kyriacou, president of the Chlorakas Environmental and Cultural Association, expressed his gratitude to volunteers Andrei, Kseniia and Nikita, who participated in the tree-planting effort.

Kyriacou said the volunteers contributed their time and work willingly and selflessly, demonstrating commitment and care for the local community.

He added that voluntary action serves as a positive example of social awareness and active civic participation, showing that environmental protection is a shared responsibility.

The association said it will continue promoting initiatives that strengthen environmental awareness and volunteerism, while encouraging local residents to take an active role in efforts to preserve and enhance the area's natural heritage.

According to the organisers, the tree-planting project is more than a symbolic gesture. It represents a practical investment in a greener, healthier and more sustainable future, demonstrating how small acts of collective contribution can have a meaningful impact on both the environment and society.
