Two bodies were recovered over the weekend from the site of the 30 August shipwreck off the coast of occupied Kyrenia, according to reports from the north.
One body was recovered on Saturday and a second on Sunday. Authorities have begun the process of identifying both victims through DNA testing.
According to reports from the occupied areas, the body recovered on Sunday belongs to a man. No details have been released regarding the identity or gender of the victim recovered on Saturday.
Missing toll falls to eight
Following the discovery of the two bodies, the number of people still missing has fallen to eight.
The officially confirmed death toll from the shipwreck now stands at 20.
The identification process remains ongoing as authorities continue efforts to account for all those who were on board the vessel when it sank on 30 August.
