Aircraft from Turkey's Turkish Stars aerobatic team carried out a demonstration flight over the Pyramids of Giza as part of the El Alamein International Airshow in Egypt.
The display took place on the same day that the leaders of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt met in El Alamein, where discussions focused on regional cooperation and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Demonstration over Giza
According to Turkey's Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Stars conducted a series of aerial manoeuvres over the historic Giza pyramids during their participation in the international airshow.
The event was widely promoted by the Turkish Ministry of Defence, which described the performance as an "unforgettable demonstration flight".
Turkish Ministry highlights event
In a social media post, the ministry said the Turkish Stars had performed above the pyramids and had "greeted our Egyptian brothers".
The display received significant publicity from Turkish officials, who highlighted the team's participation in the Egyptian aviation event.
Timing draws attention
The flight coincided with the trilateral summit of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt in El Alamein.
During the meeting, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi discussed issues including regional cooperation and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Part of international airshow
The Turkish Stars participated in the El Alamein International Airshow, an event that brings together military and civilian aviation teams from multiple countries.
According to Anadolu, the team's appearance over Giza formed part of its programme during the airshow.
