A supporters’ celebration at a Larnaca sports club was disrupted around midnight when a group of about 30 people entered the auxiliary pitches and attacked attendees with clubs. Three men were injured, one of whom was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital.
Police are investigating a case involving assault, causing injury and possession of offensive weapons.
Three men receive hospital treatment
The three injured men are aged 21, 23 and 28.
The 23-year-old suffered an injury to his hand, while the 28-year-old was injured in the head. Both received treatment at Larnaca General Hospital and were later discharged.
The 21-year-old suffered facial injuries and was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital for further treatment. His condition is not considered life-threatening.
Larnaca CID is investigating the case.
