Minister withholds comment pending criminal probe

The minister said that, at this stage, he would limit himself to a thorough review of the findings and would not make further comments, given that the Cyprus Police's criminal investigation into the case remains ongoing. He noted that respect for the process and the need to safeguard the integrity of the criminal investigation meant he could not comment publicly on matters that form part of the inquiry.

Palmas said that once the criminal investigation is complete and all the evidence has been assessed, any responsibility found to exist will be attributed in accordance with the law. According to the minister, the findings of the police's criminal investigation are expected to be handed to the Law Office of the Republic within the coming week.
