A complaint of an armed attack and threat against his life was made last night to the Police by the 43‑year‑old President of the 'Voice of Livestock Farmers,' Neophytos Neophytou.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred at around 23:25 last night, while the 43‑year‑old was driving his car on the Delikipos – Lythrodontas road. At some point along the road, three unknown individuals riding two motorcycles blocked his path.

One of the suspects pointed a gun at him and threatened him, while at the same time the other two accomplices caused extensive damage to the front windscreen of his vehicle.

The case and the motives behind the attack are being investigated with the utmost seriousness by the Larnaca CID.

As he stated on the television programme Protoselido, he initially believed it was a prank by youths. However, when he stopped his vehicle, two of the perpetrators moved towards the front of the car and caused damage to the windscreen, while the third allegedly pointed a gun at his head.

According to Mr Neophytou, the perpetrators warned him to withdraw from public activity and from the interventions of the Voice of Livestock Farmers regarding the issue of foot‑and‑mouth disease, leaving clear threats of consequences.
