Elena Kulichenko finished 10th in the high jump with a successful clearance of 1.88m on her debut at a Women's European Championship, while Filippa Fotopoulou will now compete in the long jump final, scheduled for 20:05 (22:05 Cyprus time) on Sunday, following a late announcement to the Cypriot delegation at the European Championships invBirmingham.

According to the Cyprus Athletics Federation (KOEAS), Koulitsenko competed on Saturday, the coldest night of the six-day championship, during the 27th European Championships.
Fotopoulou's route to the final
On the afternoon of 15 August, Fotopoulou initially finished 13th overall across the two qualifying groups, missing out on the final for the first time at a European Championship by just one point. The federation subsequently announced that, under new European Athletics regulations, athletes finishing 13th and 14th are considered reserves for the final.
KOEAS's initial information indicated that Sweden's Aila Hallberg Hosain was facing a fitness issue. Should Hosain be unable to compete, Fotopoulou will make her third consecutive final appearance.
