A new one-on-one meeting between the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, Maria Angela Holguin, and the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, is expected to take place at 5pm at the Presidential Palace.
On Saturday, Maria Angela Holguin is also expected to meet again with Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman.
These meetings follow an initial round of talks held with both leaders last Monday.
On Tuesday, the Personal Envoy held separate meetings with the two negotiators, during which the possibility of a joint meeting between them was not discussed, ahead of the new separate meetings with the leaders.
According to CNA sources, discussions with the negotiators are continuing on preparations for an informal multilateral meeting expected in late July or early August. According to the same sources, the discussions focus only on substantive issues and not on confidence-building measures.
