Israeli military publishes list of senior Iranian leaders it says were killed in strikes
The Israeli military has released a list of senior Iranian officials it says were killed in Saturday’s airstrikes, as conflicting reports continue to circulate over the fate of Iran’s top leadership.
According to Israel, those killed include Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh; Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani; Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Mohammad Pakpour; intelligence official Saleh Asadi; research officials Hossein Jabal Amelian and Reza Mozaffari-Nia; and long-time defence liaison Mohammad Shirazi.
Tehran has not officially confirmed the deaths of the individuals named by Israel.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told NBC that, to his knowledge, all senior members of Iran’s leadership remained safe.
Separately, Israeli sources cited by CNN claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in one of the strikes. However, Israel has not provided evidence to substantiate that claim, and no independent confirmation has been issued.
The situation remains fluid, with official statements from both sides sharply diverging as tensions escalate.
