The HADE initiative has announced its 11th round of online language courses, continuing an effort aimed at bringing Cyprus’ communities closer through learning Greek and Turkish.
Under the motto “Let’s learn each other’s languages”, HADE is inviting people to learn Turkish or Cypriot Turkish and Greek or Cypriot Greek, regardless of their existing level.
The initiative describes communication through language as a means of care and resistance during periods of division and uncertainty, with the broader aim of fostering a culture of peace, solidarity and cooperation.
Volunteer tutors also sought
HADE has also issued an open call for volunteer tutors, not only for Greek and Turkish but for other languages as well.
Previous teaching experience is welcome but is not required to participate as a volunteer.
During the previous, 10th round of the programme, 15 volunteer tutors took part, while approximately 250 people expressed an interest in joining.
Courses offered during that round included Egyptian Arabic, Western Armenian, Spanish and French, alongside the programme’s main languages.
Courses begin in October
The new online courses are expected to begin in mid-October 2026.
HADE stressed that the programme relies on volunteers and, as a result, it may not be possible to accommodate every person who applies.
