CyBC Reopens Call for Cypriot Films and Documentaries

Directors and producers can submit fiction, documentary and short films by 31 October 2026.

CyBC is reviving its initiative to license and broadcast Cypriot films, following discussions with the Cyprus Directors' Union. The initiative covers feature-length fiction filmsfeature-length documentaries and short films, with directors and producers invited to submit their details by 31 October 2026.

Talks with the Directors' Union

According to an announcement from the Union, the initiative will cover feature-length fiction films, feature-length documentaries and short films. Licensing fee negotiations remain ongoing. In the meantime, CyBC has asked the Cyprus Directors' Union to compile a list of films from directors and producers interested in taking part.

How submissions will be handled

Information on interested productions will be forwarded to CyBC, which will then contact directors or producers directlyto review the proposed films and select those to be broadcast.

What applicants need to submit

Interested parties are asked to submit, among other details:

  • the title and synopsis of the film
  • the year of production and running time
  • details of the director and main cast
  • the content rating or age restriction

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2026.
