Limassol police have arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with the arson of luxury vehicles at a car showroom on 25 January. The arrest follows the detention of a 28-year-old suspect on Monday.

The 49-year-old, a local businessman, was taken into custody yesterday. Police said the arrest was made based on witness testimony and a court-issued warrant.

Authorities searched the suspect’s home and car. They recovered about €18,000 in cash, two replica handguns, and five mobile phones. All items were seized as evidence.

The earlier arrest of the 28-year-old led to a six-day remand for further investigation. The arson caused extensive damage to seven high-end cars, with losses amounting to hundreds of thousands of euros.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing to examine all evidence to establish the circumstances and motive behind the attack.
