A meeting with the police leadership has been convened for Tuesday by Justice Minister Kostas Fytiris to review and assess the security measures in place for Cyprus’ Presidency obligations.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Justice, the session will focus on the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of security arrangements implemented in the context of the Presidency, as well as preparedness for upcoming events.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the operational handling of the recent informal meeting of EU heads of state and government. The review will examine the effectiveness of the measures adopted, the level of coordination between involved services, and the overall operational response.

Police leadership is expected to provide a detailed briefing on the planning, implementation and management of security measures since the start of the Presidency, alongside an outline of preparations for forthcoming international meetings, conferences and events to be hosted in Cyprus.

The ministry said the aim is to further strengthen coordination, enhance readiness for future obligations, and ensure Cyprus continues to meet the heightened demands associated with its Presidency role.
