Authorities temporarily shut down Lublin Airport after a second aircraft carrying passengers to Warsaw was diverted following a reported security threat.

A second reported threat involving a passenger aircraft bound for Warsaw triggered a security alert in Poland, with authorities temporarily closing Lublin Airport while investigations continue.

According to Sweden Herald, a SAS flight travelling from Copenhagen to Warsaw was diverted and landed in Lublin after a threat was reported against the aircraft.

Passengers informed during flight

Reports indicate that the captain informed passengers of the threat during the journey.

A passenger on board told Danish newspaper BT that cabin crew advised travellers of the situation while the flight was still in progress.

Second incident follows earlier emergency diversion

The development comes shortly after another aircraft travelling from London to Warsaw reportedly made an unscheduled landing, also at Lublin Airport.

Separately, an aircraft arriving from London landed at Warsaw-Modlin Airport at 10:01 local time carrying 181 passengers, according to airport spokesperson Adam Szablowski, who spoke to Polish broadcaster TVN24.

Airport closed pending security assessment

Polish authorities temporarily suspended operations at Lublin Airport and deployed specialist bomb-disposal teams to assess the situation.

No further details have been released regarding the nature of the threat, and investigators have not confirmed whether any security risk was found.

The airport remains closed until further notice as enquiries continue.
