Ilias Kasidiaris is scheduled to be released from Domokos Prison on 15 September 2026 after completing the sentence imposed in connection with the Golden Dawn criminal organisation case, according to a statement issued by his lawyer, Vasso Pantazi.
In the statement, Pantazi said Kasidiaris would be released at noon on 15 September following the completion of his prison term.
She also argued that his case raises questions relating to human rights and the presumption of innocence, noting that the legal proceedings have not yet resulted in an irrevocable conviction.
Pantazi further said Kasidiaris intends to address reports concerning his future plans following his release.
According to the statement, he will hold a press conference after leaving prison in order to respond to speculation regarding possible participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections through a political movement or party.
