Raouna Delivers Report on Cyprus EU Council Presidency

Deputy minister thanked President Nikos Christodoulides as her two-and-a-half-year assignment came to an end.

 

Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna has delivered the Report of Activities of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union to President Nikos Christodoulides, marking the completion of an assignment she began two and a half years ago.

In a post on X on Friday, Raouna thanked the President for his trust and described the role as an immense honour.

A two-and-a-half-year journey

“Mr President, I am fully aware of the responsibility I am assuming and the great importance of the mission entrusted to me. I will work tirelessly to prove worthy of your trust and of our duty to Cyprus,” Raouna wrote, recalling the words with which she began the assignment.

She said that the journey had now concluded with the delivery of the report to the President.

“Mr President, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your trust and for the immense honour of serving our country. The Cyprus Presidency made us proud,” she concluded.
