More than 150 people have applied to become parliamentary associate to ALMA MP Irene Charalambidou, with a multi-stage selection process now set to follow.

The application process for the post remains open until June 10, as originally announced, while the evaluation has been assigned to an external team of associates in a bid to ensure impartiality and transparency.

According to Charalambidou, the first stage will see 15 candidates shortlisted from more than 150 applicants for an online interview with the evaluation team.

The 10 strongest candidates will then take part in an online discussion with the MP herself, before the final five are invited for an in-person interview at her office.

The high level of interest suggests strong competition for the position beside Charalambidou, who was elected to Parliament with ALMA.
